Camden, SC – The Kershaw County Probate Court (Court) will implement the following Coronavirus (COVID-19) preventative measures effective Monday, March 16, 2020 and will remain in place until further notice.
Following the suggestions of healthcare professionals, the Court will do its part to slow/stop the spread of COVID-19. During this time the Court will continue to focus on serving the citizens of Kershaw County using modified programs, staffing and procedures. The Court will conduct much of its business via phone, email, teleconferencing and mail.
Filings: We are accepting filings by mail. If you cannot file by mail, a drop box is placed at the entrance of our office to place your filings.
Hearings: Only emergency hearings will be held for the next two weeks.
Marriage Licenses: Call the Probate Court at 425-1503 for specific instructions. We are asking couples who are getting married in May or June to please wait to apply until closer to the wedding date if possible.

It is important to know that COVID-19 is a serious health concern for Kershaw County and we must act and re-act in a responsible manner. These changes in operation will limit personal contact which will help reduce the possible spread of COVID-19. I know that you will join me and my staff in doing our part to mediate the spread of COVID-19 and embrace these changes during this time,” stated Kershaw County Probate Judge Debbie Branham.

The Kershaw County Probate Court is pleased to announce our Estate Index is available online. The index allows individuals to check the status of estates filed from 1981 to present. Upcoming Probate Process Workshop Dates:
All Workshops are held in the Council Chambers of The Kershaw County Government Center at 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Room 207

The workshop is designed to help individuals who are currently probating an estate and for those who would like to know what to expect after the death of a loved one. Attendees of the workshop will receive an overview of the probate process including a review of all necessary probate forms.
