Line Dance
Learning the Electric Slide and other popular steps is easy with line dance classes offered at the Rec. Department building. Line Dance is a great stress reducer as well as good exercise, providing much of the same benefits as low-impact aerobics. Increase energy, improve strength and muscle tone. Age is no factor. And you can build your stamina while having fun! Come with a friend or spouse or come alone; you don’t need a partner for line dance. The easy beginner steps is offered from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Mondays.  The cost is $4 per person per class. The instructor is Sylvia Sealy.   
A beginner/intermediate class is offered from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesdays.  The instructor is Vickie Normille and the cost is $5 per person.  

Senior Fitness
This class is offered through the Recreation Department for seniors 55 and older. This class offers a variety of exercises to improve strength, flexibility, posture and balance using a chair and floor mat. All participants must be able to follow verbal cues in order to safely and effectively perform the exercises. The instructor is Melia Campolong, certified senior fitness instructor. Classes are held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. The fee is $20 per person for the month. Also offered at the Bethune Recreation Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at a cost of $20 per month. Pre-registration is required. Call the Recreation Department for session dates.

Tai-Chi is a physical exercise and martial art that has been practiced in China for thousands of years. The free-flowing relaxation exercise consists of a special arrangement of movements know as the form. Relax and enjoy good health with the six weeks course at the Old Armory. The cost is $25 per person. Taylor Chestnut is the instructor. Please call the office if you want your name on the waiting list. A class date will be set when the pre-registration minimum is met.

This is a deep muscle exercise class involving walking, stretching, bar usage and more. The purpose is to tone and lose inches, while working all major muscle groups to achieve over-all muscle fitness. Bring 1 or 2 pound hand weights if possible and wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. A five-week session is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at a cost of $20.
