LAKE WATEREE WATERSHED PROJECT
Funds are available to help pay for approved septic repairs / replacements for failing systems in the Lake Wateree Watershed. This program will provide 60% cost share assistance for eligible residents.
Some Symptoms of a Failing Septic System:
• There are damp/soggy areas in your yard during dry weather around your drain field
• Sewage smell
• Water backs up into bathtubs or other drains
• Gurgling sounds from your drains when a toilet is flushed
• Areas of your yard have much greener/lusher grass than the surrounding area
How do I get assistance?
1. Check the map! to see if you live in the Lake Wateree Watershed. You must reside within the shaded area.
2. County staff will conduct a site visit to verify the septic system is failing and is a water quality concern.
3. Download the application form here: Application
4. You will need to provide two quotes from licensed septic contractors (three quotes required if total is $10,000 or more). See the application checklist for additional requirements.
5. If approved, the program will pay 60% of eligible repair / replacement costs.
