SELECT COUNTY BUILDINGS NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Kershaw County, SC – Kershaw County has now opened The Government Center, Parks and Recreation Administration Office, and Public Works Office to the public.

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, Kershaw County has taken several steps to prepare for public re-entry:

  • All employees and members of the public will have their temperature checked before entering the buildings. Temperatures of 100.4 or higher will not be able to enter the building.
  • Social Distancing of six (6) feet is required at all times and are identified with floor markers within each department’s lobby
  • The public is strongly encouraged to wear masks

ALREADY OPEN OR LIMITED PUBLIC ACCESS TO COUNTY BUILDINGS

  • The Sheriff’s Office lobby remains open to the public
  • Voter’s Registration continues to hold Absentee Voting at Camden City Arena while their office is open to the public for all other voter matters
  • Convenience Centers and Landfill will return to normal operating hours on Wednesday, May 13th

CLOSED OR LIMITED PUBLIC ACCESS TO COUNTY BUILDINGS

  • The Kershaw Courthouse remains at limited access to the general public for the time being, due to orders from Chief Justice Beatty. However, Magistrate Court will be available for evictions beginning May 15th by appointment only. Evictions without an appointment will be given the necessary paperwork to fill out and an appointment to return. All courts are still available by phone or email:
    • Magistrate’s Court – 803.425.7226
    • Probate Court – 803.425.1503 or probatecourt@kershaw.sc.gov
    • Circuit Court – 803.425.7223
    • Family Court – 803.425.7225
  • Kershaw County Library Branches remain closed to the public, but contactless pick-up for library materials will begin on May 18th. Library patrons may place holds for library materials by calling their local library branch or using the library catalog. Book drops will be available as well to return library materials. Patrons can also find an incredible amount of library resources at kershawcountylibrary.org.
