KERSHAW COUNTY TO RECEIVE CORRECTED TAX NOTICES IN THE COMING WEEKS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 4, 2018
Curt Arnold, Assessor
Kershaw County Assessor’s Office
Kershaw County, SC – Most Kershaw County Property Owners saw a slight increase to their tax notice this year due to a decrease from The State of South Carolina’s Local Option Tax reimbursement. These reimbursement funds, collected by The SC Department of Revenue, are used to lower property taxes in Kershaw County. This year, unfortunately, The State of South Carolina sent less money.
In addition, some Kershaw County Property Owners may have seen a more significant increase to their tax notice due to a computer programming error. This issue has been resolved and new tax notices will be reprinted and mailed in the coming weeks.
If you believe your tax notice may have been affected by the computer programming error, please contact The Kershaw County Assessor’s Office at 803.425.1523 or meet with an Assessor’s Office Staff Member in person at their office located at The Kershaw County Government Center:
515 Walnut Street
Camden, SC 29020
Monday – Friday
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
In the event that your tax notice was affected, but you have already paid, Kershaw County will gladly refund the difference after the new notices are issued.
Kershaw County encourages property owners to contact The Kershaw County Assessor’s Office if you have any questions or concerns regarding your tax notice.
