TROPICAL STORM WATCH ISSUED FOR KERSHAW COUNTY

Kershaw County, SC – The National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for Kershaw County. As Hurricane Michael nears U.S. landfall, Kershaw County’s Department of Safety and Emergency Services will continue to track and monitor the system that is expected to downgrade to a tropical storm when it reaches South Carolina late Wednesday night.

Based on The National Weather Service’s 11:00 AM Briefing, Kershaw County is expected to receive four to six inches of rainfall with 20-40 MPH sustained winds and up to 50 MPH wind gusts.

Kershaw County encourages residents and business owners to be prepared and ready for a natural disaster:

  • Always check your emergency supply kit and restock any supplies that may have been used during another emergency situation,
