Job Title: Part-Time Facility Supervisor
Location: Northern Area- Bethune, Mt. Pisgah, Westville

Salary: $13.00 per hour
General Summary
The Part-Time Facility Supervisor supports and assists the Athletic and Program Superintendents & Athletic and Program Coordinators as on-site personnel during recreation department seasonal activities - up to 29 hours per week.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as authority figure representing Kershaw County Parks & Recreation at the assigned facility.
- Oversee scorekeepers, referees, participants, spectators, etc. assigned or at the facility.
- Enforces property rules, regulations, and policies of Kershaw County Parks & Recreation.
- Resolves issues and solves problems quickly as possible; reports or refers unsolved problems to higher supervisors through approved chain of command, including, but not limited to, Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office or City of Camden police.
- Reports to the Kershaw County Parks & Recreation Department 15-30 minutes prior for briefing of assigned information.
- Ensures all athletic personnel have arrived for each event, i.e. scorekeepers, referees, coaches, participants, etc.
- Opens all restrooms and buildings, turns on appropriate lights.
- Assists in maintaining equipment to ensure safe and good working conditions.
- Reports general maintenance, damage, broken, or dangerous equipment.
- Ensures proper set up and field markings. Inspects trash cans, and cleans debris as needed.
- Turn in score sheets to the Kershaw County Parks & Recreation Department staff after each shift.
- Interacts with the public in a positive manner.
- Completes and reports injuries and ejections as necessary.
- Provides awareness of inclement weather and field regulations during lightning, rain, and other conditions and designated by KCPRD safety procedures.
- Performs other related assigned duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of various types of recreation activities.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures of the Kershaw County Parks & Recreation Department.
- Knowledge of rules relating to athletic leagues and games.
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs.
- Ability to apply supervisory skills to a variety of activities to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform manual labor requires good physical conditioning.
Education, Training and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent and six months of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
- Must have adequate environmental tolerance, including ability to tolerate high temperatures and confining workspaces.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
- Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must have finger and manual dexterity, strength, and physical stamina.
- Must have body flexibility including multi-limb coordination.
- Must have adequate depth perception, visual acuity, visual stamina, and auditory perception.
- Ability to understand department rules and regulations, Kershaw County rules and regulations and standard operating procedures and the ability to help formulate the same.
- Must be able to concentrate, memorize and reason logically.
- Ability to respond to emergencies effectively, to change effectively, and to directives effectively.
